Who We Are

AgeInnovate is a Nashville-based initiative focused on catalyzing innovation in aging. Today, we’re a pitch competition, but we see greater opportunities ahead. We’re laying the foundation for an ecosystem that brings together startups, healthcare leaders, investors, and policy allies to drive meaningful change in the way we age.

What We Believe

By 2030, over 70 million Americans will be over 65. That’s not just a demographic shift; it’s an opportunity. We believe AgeTech can improve lives and drive economic development, particularly in regions like Tennessee that already have the raw materials: strong healthcare infrastructure, a creative, growing workforce, and a culture of innovation. If we don’t lead this, other cities will.

What We’re Building

In 2024, we launched our inaugural pitch competition and awarded $25,000 to our champion startup, Wave Therapeutics – a company creating AI-powered wheelchair cushions that help prevent bedsores. That momentum showed us what’s possible. Now, we’re building something bigger: a platform for events, education, and connection that can seed the future of AgeTech across the Southeast.

What We Need

We’re seeking collaborators who see aging not just as a care challenge, but as a space for creativity, commerce, and community impact.

  • Startup founders building innovative solutions for older adults and caregivers
  • Investors exploring a fast-growing, underserved market with real social impact
  • Technology, healthcare, and senior living leaders ready to shape what’s next
  • Community and policy partners interested in creating jobs, reducing strain on care systems, and supporting healthy aging for all

The future is AgeTech – and we believe Tennessee should lead it.
